Today was the first day of the Canada Day festivities.

Those events take the form of a four and a half day carving contest every year in the last week of June.

The aroma of freshly made bread – it’s an entirely pleasant feeling isn’t it?

That yeasty, warming fragrance, like a mother’s love. That’s because the act of baking, as any bakerĀ  will tell you, amateur, professional or otherwise is more than just an emotional hit, but a nourishing benefit too.

It is becoming a hit in some places where a baker will go into schools and show young children the art of making a loaf of bread.
